Mechanic's Liens
What is Maine's Law on Mechanic's Liens
A mechanic’s lien is “a statutory lien that secures payment for labor or materials supplied in improving, repairing, or maintaining real or personal property, such as a building, an automobile, or the like.” (Black's Law Dictionary, 11th ed. 2019). Although Maine statutes don’t use this term, the laws governing mechanic’s liens can be found in 10 MRS §§3251-3269.
