If you already have a library card with us and would like to set up a digital library account please give us a call at 207-287-1600 or submit an Ask a Law Librarian request form below:
If you are a Maine resident and would like to set up a library card and digital library account with us you will need to provide us with acceptable photo ID and proof of current residence.
You may provide acceptable photo ID and proof of current residence in person or if you prefer you can email us a scan or photo of these documents at lawlib.circulation@legislature.maine.gov. Please state in your email that you are interested in creating a library card and digital library account. You will also need to provide a working phone number with the above documentation.
ID must be current. Examples of acceptable photo ID include:
- Maine driver's license
- Passport
- School ID
- Employee ID
Examples of documents that can be used to verify residence address include:
- Maine driver's license
- Utility bill
- Vehicle registration
- Document with recognizable letterhead or return address
State Employee Access
If you are a state employee (legislative, judicial, and executive) when logging in please choose "sign in with email" and use your state email address. You will be sent an access code.
Mobile Device Access
Just download the app from the GooglePlay™ store or the Apple® App Store to your phone or tablet to access LexisNexis® treatises, deskbooks, practice guides and more.
The Library's code is MAINESTATE.
