§12555. Checking baitfish traps
1.
Prohibition.
While trapping for baitfish in the inland waters with the use of a baitfish trap as defined in section 10001, subsection 7, a person shall check the baitfish trap or cause the baitfish trap to be checked at least once in every 7 calendar days.

2.
Penalty.
The following penalties apply to violations of this section.
A.
A person who violates subsection 1 commits a civil violation for which a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $500 may be adjudged.

B.
A person who violates subsection 1 after having been adjudicated as having committed 3 or more civil violations under this Part within the previous 5-year period commits a Class E crime.
