Representative John Andrews

House District 73

Rep. Andrews is currently serving his second term in the Maine House of Representatives. He is a member of the Innovation, Development, Economic Advancement & Business Committee, and previosuly being a member of the Veterans & Legal Affairs Committee.

John is a committed public servant, serving on the Paris Board of Selectman, the Paris Economic Development Committee, the Paris Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization. He has also been an advisor for the Buckfield Economic Development Committee and the Buckfield Old Church on the Hill Committee. 

John and his wife, Dr. Jeannette Andrews, live in South Paris where they have two children. John coaches youth football for Oxford Hills and t-ball in Paris. John is also a member of Oxford Lodge No. 18 & the Kora Shrine, the Norway-Paris Fish & Game Club, the Waterford Fish & Game Club, the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine, and the Gun Owner's of Maine.

Representative Andrews is the first member of the Libertarian Party to serve in Maine House of Representatives.

Committee Work

Rep. Andrews is serving his first term on the Innovation, Development, Economic Advancement & Business Committee. 

Matters that are handled by the committee: Business regulation, including automobile and fuel sales; retail pricing; franchising; advertising; real estate practices; professional and occupational licensing; consumer protection; Finance Authority of Maine (FAME), including student assistance programs at Finance Authority of Maine; economic development; economic planning and development agencies; venture capital and trade programs; opportunity zones; import competition; product marketing; research and development; technology commercialization; technology transfers; tourism; and defense facility conversion.
