Rep. Tavis Hasenfus is serving his first term in the Maine House.

Hasenfus is active in his community. He currently serves as the Board President of the Friends of Cobbossee Watershed and is a Board Member of the Winthrop Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce. Hasenfus has also volunteered as a member of the Winthrop Recreation Committee and as a coach for young athletes of all ages.

A graduate of the University of Maine and University of Maine School of Law, Hasenfus is now a general practice attorney in Winthrop. He is a third generation Winthrop High School graduate.

Hasenfus lives in Readfield, less than a mile from his Winthrop childhood home, with his wife, two-year-old daughter and infant son.

Brief description of the subject matter handled by the committee: Business regulation, including automobile and fuel sales; retail pricing; franchising; advertising; real estate practices; professional and occupational licensing; consumer protection; Finance Authority of Maine (FAME), including student assistance programs at Finance Authority of Maine; economic development; economic planning and development agencies; venture capital and trade programs; opportunity zones; import competition; product marketing; research and development; technology commercialization; technology transfers; tourism; and defense facility conversion.
