Representative Poppy Arford is serving her first term in the Maine House of Representatives.

Arford grew up in Auburn, Maine and holds a degree in Social Work from the University of Southern Maine. More recently, she graduated from the Maine-based Hanley Health Leadership Development program.

Passionate for the Maine outdoors, Rep. Arford has previously worked as an Outward Bound instructor leading wilderness expeditions. Arford has also worked as a Registered Substance Abuse Counselor and as the developer and Director of ShareCenter, a program which provides low-cost resource materials to educators. Rep. Arford has also served as a patient and healthcare consumer representative on statewide healthcare quality improvement and cost-transparency efforts, including six years on the Board of Directors for Maine Health Data Organization.

Locally, Arford has served two terms on the Brunswick Town Council and contributes to her community by volunteering through the schools and various nonprofit organizations.

Arford is committed to ensuring affordable healthcare, clean energy and fair taxation. She also supports business growth, the creation of good paying jobs, better education for all Maine students and affordable housing. Rep. Arford cares deeply about the wellbeing of our State and the people who live and work in Maine.

Rep. Arford has proudly called Brunswick her home for the past thirty-five years with her husband, Loren. They have two adult children.
