Initiative: Appropriates funds to provide assistance within existing programs to employees who are laid off as a result of the reduction in the state government workforce. The assistance may include, but is not limited to, retraining, career planning, and assistance in obtaining other employment and may be provided before or after an employee leaves state employment. These funds

will be transferred to the Department of Labor. These funds carry forward until June 30, 2005.
