C. A license for an operator of a slot machine under
section 911 is $1,000.

 
In addition to the annual license or registration fee, the
director may charge a one-time application fee for a license
or registration listed in paragraph A, B or C in an amount
equal to the actual cost of processing the application and
performing any background investigations.__All fees collected
pursuant to this section must be deposited directly to the
General Fund.

 
2. Term of license and registration.__All licenses and
registrations issued by the director under this chapter are
effective for 10 years and are automatically renewable at the
conclusion of the term for an additional term of 10 years,
unless revoked pursuant to section 917.

 
3. Transferable.__A license issued under this chapter is
transferable or assignable as long as the director finds that
the transferee or assignee satisfies all requirements for the
issuance of the license transferred or assigned.

 
§917. Actions relating to licenses and registrations

 
1. Suspension or revocation of license; refusal to renew.__
The commission may refuse to renew a license or registration
or revoke a license or registration after a hearing in
accordance with the Maine Administrative Procedure Act for
just cause, including any of the following:

 
A. The person made or caused to be made a false statement
of material fact in obtaining a license or registration
under this chapter or in connection with service rendered
within the scope of the license or registration issued;

 
B. The person or the person's agent violated any provision
of this chapter or any rule adopted under this chapter; or

 
C. The holder of a license or registration under this
chapter becomes ineligible to hold that license or
registration.

 
The commission may not suspend a license or registration
unless the director determines that probable cause exists for
the suspension. The commission shall immediately notify the
licensee or registration holder in writing of the suspension
and the date the suspension is to take effect.__If the
licensee or registration holder wishes to have a hearing, the
licensee or registration holder must petition the Superior
Court in writing within 20 days of the date of the suspension
and the Superior Court shall conduct a hearing expeditiously.__
