Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §7406, sub-§12, as amended by PL 2001, c. 202, §1, is repealed and the following enacted in its place:

12.__Hunting without hunter orange clothing.__A person is guilty of hunting without hunter orange clothing if that person hunts with firearms during the open firearm season on deer and fails to wear a solid-colored hunter orange hat, except that persons hunting water waterfowl from a boat or blind or in conjunction with waterfowl decoys need not wear hunter orange clothing.

SUMMARY

This bill changes the requirement of wearing 2 articles of hunter orange clothing, one of which must be a hat, to only needing to wear a hunter orange hat.
