In Memory of: (5-10) Harry Kaiserian, Jr., of Castine, a retired Commander of the United States Navy. Commander Kaiserian spent most of the first part of his naval career at sea. He attended the United States Naval War College and served on the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In 1984, he began teaching as a Professor of Naval Science at the Maine Maritime Academy, and he continued on as Registrar after his retirement from the Navy. He was active in many local organizations, including the Friends of the Witherle Library, the Bagaduce Ambulance Corps, the Wilson Museum, the Senior College at Belfast and the Castine Men's Club. An avid cook, he engaged many readers of the Penobscot Bay Press with his collected recipes and the stories that accompanied them and published a cookbook, K's Kwisine. Commander Kaiserian will be long remembered and sadly missed by his family and friends and all those whose lives he touched;

(5-12) Richard Stanley Soper, Jr., of Verona Island. Dr. Soper studied entomology, mycology and ecology and spent more than 25 years researching insect pathology. He had over 10 years of administrative and supervisory management experience in improving our nation's ability to maintain its dominant role in agriculture. He was area director of microbial biological control for the United States Government for the state of Georgia and was a research leader with extensive publications and 3 patents on production of insect fungi. He served in the United States Naval Reserve and also was a Mason. Dr. Soper will be long remembered and sadly missed by his family and friends;
