Resolve, To Recognize April 6, 2005 as the National Day of Hope
Emergency preamble. Whereas, acts and resolves of the Legislature do not become effective until 90 days after adjournment unless enacted as emergencies; and
Whereas, this resolve concerns an event on April 6, 2005, and therefore needs to be effective before that date; and
Whereas, in the judgment of the Legislature, these facts create an emergency within the meaning of the Constitution of Maine and require the following legislation as immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety; now, therefore, be it
Sec. 1. National Day of Hope recognized. Resolved: That April 6, 2005 is recognized as the National Day of Hope. The Department of Health and Human Services shall make available information to educate the citizens of the State on how to break the cycle of child abuse and neglect.
Emergency clause. In view of the emergency cited in the preamble, this resolve takes effect when approved.
Effective April 1, 2005.
