Sec. YY-1. PL 2001, c. 559, Pt. D, §21 is amended to read:
Sec. D-21. Lease purchase authorization. Pursuant to the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5, section 1587, the Department of Administrative and Financial Services on behalf of the Department of Education may enter into financing arrangements in fiscal years 2001-02 and 2002-03 for the acquisition of laptop computer systems to support the operations of the Maine Learning Technology Program. The financing agreements may not exceed 4-1/2 years in duration and
$22,323,279.08$25,509,377.81 in principal costs. The interest rate may not exceed 4.5% and the total interest costs may not exceed$2,546,720.92$2,856,720.02. The annual principal and interest costs must be paid from the appropriate line category allocations in the Department of Education.
