An Act to Allow the Town of Chester to Annex a Certain Parcel of Land
Mandate preamble. This measure requires one or more local units of government to expand or modify activities so as to necessitate additional expenditures from local revenues but does not provide funding for at least 90% of those expenditures. Pursuant to the Constitution of Maine, Article IX, Section 21, two thirds of all of the members elected to each House have determined it necessary to enact this measure.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. Part of Township 2, Range 8; annexation to Chester. The following lot or parcel of land bounded and described as follows and situated adjacent to the Town of Chester in the County of Penobscot is annexed to the Town of Chester:
Beginning at a point on the southwest corner of the Town of Chester on the Penobscot River and the southeast corner of T.2, R.8, N.W.P.; thence northerly along the west line of the Town of Chester and the east line of T.2, R.8, N.W.P. to the northwest corner of the Town of Chester and the northeast corner of T.2, R.8, N.W.P.; thence westerly along the northerly line of T.2, R.8, N.W.P. one mile more or less to the easterly sideline of the Interstate 95 right-of-way; thence southerly along the easterly sideline of the Interstate 95 right-of-way to the point of intersection with the southerly line of T.2, R.8, N.W.P. and the northerly line of Mattamiscontiss Township; thence easterly along the southerly line of T.2, R.8, N.W.P. approximately 3.5 miles to the point of commencement.
