§1754

§1753. False affidavits or protests

If a master, other officer or mariner of a vessel makes, causes to be made or swears to a false affidavit or protest; or if an owner or other person concerned in the vessel, or in the property on board the vessel, procures a false affidavit or protest to be made, or exhibits a false affidavit or protest with intent to injure, deceive or defraud an insurer of the vessel or property, the master, other officer or mariner, owner or other person must be punished by a fine of not more than $5,000 or by imprisonment for not more than 10 years.   [RR 2025, c. 2, Pt.
