The bill includes
one-time General Fund appropriations to the Commission on Public Defense
Services of $13,000,000 in fiscal year 2025-26 and $9,000,000 in 2026-27 to
address the shortfall in funding available to compensate constitutionally and
statutorily required assigned counsel. |
