This resolve
directs the Maine Education Policy Research Institute (MEPRI) to develop a
survey to gather and analyze information from school administrative units
regarding the use of technology in the classroom and to submit a report to
the Joint Committee on Education and Cultural Affairs on its analysis and
recommendations for the Department of Education by December 1, 2026. The
Legislature contracts with the University of Maine System to maintain MEPRI
and ongoing General Fund appropriations of $250,000 per year are included in
the Federal Programs Team program account within the Department of Education
to support the work of MEPRI. These appropriations can support approximately
three projects of the same size and scope as the work directed by this resolve.
This fiscal note assumes that the cost of the work directed by this resolve
will not exceed the $250,000 already appropriated for fiscal year 2026-27. |
