This bill would
remove the requirement for the Department of Education (department) to
contract for an internet-based application for free or reduced-price meals
under the National School Lunch Program. The cost of the program is
approximately $250,000 per year. The department may also experience
additional minor savings as a result of removing the requirement to collect
information on alternative breakfast delivery and striking the section of
statute on access to food and use of food discipline, which the department
would no longer need to enforce. |
