Fiscal Detail and Notes
The bill includes a one-time General Fund appropriation to the Department of Health and Human Services of $3,800,000 in fiscal year 2025-26 for the Maine Child Care Affordability Program and ongoing annual General Fund appropriations to the department of $1,500,000 beginning in fiscal year 2025-26 for related child care initiatives. 
Any additional costs to the State Board of Education from the provisions of this bill are expected to be minor and can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources.
