The bill includes
a one-time General Fund appropriation to the Department of Health and Human
Services of $3,800,000 in fiscal year 2025-26 for the Maine Child Care
Affordability Program and ongoing annual General Fund appropriations to the
department of $1,500,000 beginning in fiscal year 2025-26 for related child
care initiatives. |

Any additional
costs to the State Board of Education from the provisions of this bill are
expected to be minor and can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources. |
