The Judicial
Branch does not anticipate an increase in the number of cases filed as a
result of this legislation. However, there may be an increase in the length
of hearings and court time. Any additional workload can be managed within
existing budgeted resources.

The bill includes
a General Fund appropriation to the Department of Corrections of $1,102,053
in fiscal year 2026-27 for 18 Probation Officer positions, one Secretary
Specialist, one Advocate position and related All Other costs to establish
parole for individuals sentenced to the custody of the Department of
Corrections after May 1, 1976. |
