This amendment
removes the requirement that the Office of Community Affairs (OCA) develop
and share a responsible outdoor lighting model ordinance with municipalities
by September 30, 2026 and clarifies that OCA must develop the model ordinance
when adequate resources are available to absorb the cost. The amendment
removes the corresponding one-time General Fund appropriation to OCA of
$15,000 in fiscal year 2025-26.
Any additional costs to the Maine Turnpike Authority from the provisions of
this bill are expected to be minor and can be absorbed within existing
budgeted resources. |
