This bill may
increase the number of civil suits filed in the court system. The additional
workload associated with the minimal number of new cases filed in the court
system does not require additional funding at this time. The collection of
additional filing fees will increase General Fund revenue by minor amounts. |

This bill allows
employers and health insurance carriers to decide whether providers should be
included in networks and in what tier those providers should be placed. This
allows employers and carriers to better control costs and can provide lower
out-of-pocket expenses for members which would reduce costs to the State
Employee Health Plan.
Any additional costs to the Office of the Attorney General related to
enforcement of the bill's provisions are expected to be minor and can be
absorbed within existing budgeted resources. |
