This bill
requires state government entities and nonprofit entities, and authorizes
local government entities, to provide aggregate data on the immigration
status, county of residence, employment status and vaccination status of
immigrants who receive publicly funded services as well as a description of
the types of services provided. It is estimated that the annual General Fund
costs to the Office of New Americans within the Office of Policy Innovation
and the Future would be $334,710 in fiscal year 2025-26 and $303,006 in
fiscal year 2026-27 to establish one Public Service Coordinator II position
to develop and maintain a registry and data portal for service providers,
schools, and local units of government to convey aggregated demographic,
health, and citizenship data effective October 1, 2025. This bill provides no
new funding. As this bill is required to be administered within existing
resources, the impact of these new unfunded costs on other programs in the
Office of New Americans cannot be determined at this time. |
