|
The legislation
provides that if a recount has not changed the result of the election, the
requesting candidate must pay the actual cost of the recount, including
payroll costs to the state workers necessary to staff the recount. If this situation were to occur, Other
Special Revenue Funds revenue within the Department of Secretary of State
would be increased by the reimbursement amount. If the requesting candidate overpaid the
actual costs to the Department, the Department would need to reimburse the
candidate the difference between the actual costs and the amount paid. |
