|
This bill adds
new review criteria for the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to
consider when an existing hydropower project seeks relicensing or license
surrender through the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. The DEP has
indicated that it cannot conduct these additional reviews within existing
staffing and resources. Due to the intermittent nature of such reviews, the
department anticipates using contracted services when the new criteria are
triggered. The cost of each contracted review is estimated at approximately
$100,000. |
