Fiscal Detail and Notes
	This bill includes ongoing General Fund appropriations totaling $165,000 per year beginning in fiscal year 2025-26 to the Department of Education to support the work of the African American Studies Advisory Council including the costs for professional development as well as conducting representative statewide sampling of African American studies curricula in school administrative units.
	The bill includes ongoing General Fund appropriations of $2,800 per year beginning in fiscal year 2025-26 to the Legislature for the expenses of Legislators serving on the Council.  The bill also includes ongoing Other Special Revenue Funds allocations of $500 per year beginning in fiscal year 2025-26 to authorize the expenditure of funds in the event monies are received from public or private sources.
	Additional costs to the University of Maine System associated with representatives serving on the advisory council can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources.
