The bill requires
the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention within the Department of
Health and Human Services to collect data on the number of assessments by a
medical practitioner performed
pursuant to Title 34-B, section 3862-A, the number of individuals assessed
who received a referral for mental health treatment and services and any
aggregate demographic information about the individuals assessed that can be
released without risking individual identification. The department has estimated
a one-time cost of $1,875,219 to develop technology systems infrastructure to
implement the data collection and reporting required by the bill. |
|
Any additional
costs to the Department of Public Safety Office and the Office of the
Attorney General to assist with data collection are expected to be minor and
can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources. |
