The bill includes
a one-time General Fund appropriation to the Department of Health and Human
Services of $1,875,219 in fiscal year 2025-26 to develop technology systems
infrastructure for data collection and reporting of referrals to mental
health treatment or services made by medical practitioners for individuals in
protective custody who are found to present a likelihood of foreseeable harm
based on the assessment of the medical practitioner. |

Any additional
costs to the Department of Public Safety Office and the Office of the
Attorney General to assist with data collection are expected to be minor and
can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources. |
