Fiscal Detail and Notes
The bill includes one-time General Fund appropriations to the Department of Corrections of $140,000 in  fiscal year 2026-27 to support activities by the sheriffs, collectively through a statewide association of sheriffs, to develop, support and maintain an automated crime victims notification system to be used in jails, county correctional facilities and regional correctional facilities.

The bill also includes a transfer from an Other Special Revenue Funds account within the Department of the Attorney General to the unappropriated surplus of the General Fund to offset the General Fund appropriation provided.
Any additional costs to the Department of Corrections from serving on the advisory committee are expected to be minor and can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources.
