Fiscal Detail
and Notes |

|
The Department of
Education will require ongoing General Fund appropriations of $34,155,000 per
year beginning in fiscal year 2026-27 for the peer support and teacher
mentoring program for the costs associated with providing a $5,000 stipend
per school year to mentoring teachers for each teacher mentored. The
estimates assumes that there are 1,645 teachers with emergency or conditional
teaching certificates and 5,186 newly certified teachers or teachers that
have been holding a teaching certificate for less than 3 years that will
require mentoring. The actual cost will depend on the number of teachers
requiring mentoring each school year. |
