Fiscal Detail
and Notes |
|
|
|
|
|
|
This legislation
adds the State of Maine to the Interstate Compact for Massage Therapy
contingent upon 7 states enacting it into law. This fiscal note assumes that
at least 7 states will enact the compact and it will become effective during
the 2025-26 fiscal year. |
|
Given this
assumption, the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation (DPFR)
will require ongoing Other Special Revenue Funds allocations totaling
$136,059 in fiscal year 2025-26 and $184,031 in fiscal year 2026-27 to join
and participate in the massage therapy compact. These allocations will be
required for one Comprehensive Health Planner II position and one half-time
Comprehensive Health Planner I position and related All Other costs, STA-CAP
and rulemaking costs to manage the increase in responsibilities of the Board
of Licensing of Dietetic Practice, including the review of applications for
compact privilege, compact compliance, joint investigations and reporting
requirements. |
|
Additional
revenue from fees collected for granting a compact licensure can not be
estimated at this time. |
