This bill
includes ongoing General Fund appropriations of $1,500,000 per year beginning
in fiscal year 2025-26 to the School and Student Supports program within the
Department of Education to help students avoid homelessness by providing
liaisons designated pursuant to the federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Education
Assistance Improvements Act of 2001 access to emergency financial assistance
for the family of a student in an amount of up to $750 per student. |
