It is estimated
that the costs to the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) would be
one-time General Fund costs of $24,284,033 in fiscal year 2025-26 to
reimburse at least 75% of the as-filed settlement pursuant to a hospital's cost reports
within 90 days of receipt and ongoing General Fund costs of $42,758 in fiscal
year 2025-26 and $44,776 in fiscal year 2026-27 to establish one Staff
Auditor II position to review hospital cost reports. One-time Federal
Expenditures Fund and Federal Block Grant Fund allocations would also be
required for the FMAP match and ongoing Other Special Revenue allocations
would be required for the position. The provisions of this bill must be
implemented within existing resources. As this bill provides no new funding,
the impact of these new unfunded costs on other programs in the DHHS cannot
be determined at this time. |
