There may be some
minor reduction of workload associated with the minimal number of cases that
will no longer be filed in the court system. Reductions in the collection of
fines will decrease General Fund or other dedicated revenue by minor amounts. |

Fiscal Detail
and Notes |
|
|
|
|
|
|
The bill includes
Highway Fund allocations of $231,498 in fiscal year 2025-26 and $214,196 in
fiscal year 2026-27 to the Department of the Secretary of State for one Motor
Vehicle Detective and related costs to enforce regulations related to motor
vehicle inspections. Highway Fund
revenue would be reduced by $3,112,500 beginning in 2025-26 as a result of
only doing motor vehicle inspections on commercial motor vehicles, trailers
and semitrailers. |
|
The Department of
Environmental Protection has indicated that eliminating certain inspection
requirements could result in the loss of federal funding. |
