This bill
requires the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry (DACF) to
classify meat and poultry product inspections as essential services and to
continue providing inspection services on state holidays and under other
circumstances, including when requested by impacted establishments. This
change would require DACF to pay overtime Personal Services costs and
associated All Other expenses, which would require ongoing General Fund
appropriations of $57,472 beginning in fiscal year 2025-26. The bill
authorizes DACF to recover these costs from establishments that request the
services, which is expected to result in offsetting General Fund revenue. |
