Fiscal Detail and Notes
The Department of Health and Human Services will require one-time General Fund appropriations of $311,266 in fiscal year 2025-26 and $662,534 in fiscal year 2026-27 for transportation allowances, technology costs and contracted services to implement an 18-month pilot project to provide nonmedical transportation services to individuals receiving services pursuant to rule Chapter 101: MaineCare Benefits Manual, Chapter II, Section 19, Home and Community Benefits for the Elderly and Adults with Disabilities. The pilot project will provide up to $2,000 per individual for nonmedical transportation services, in addition to currently permissible medical transportation services.
