|
This bill creates
the PFAS Response Program to be administered by the Bureau of Agriculture,
Food and Rural Resources within the Department of Agriculture, Conservation
and Forestry (DACF). Funding for program activities was previously allocated
to the DACF in PL 2021, c.398, and PL 2021, c.635. The bill also modifies the
Fund to Address PFAS Contamination (FAPC), also within DACF, to allow the
department to manage and sell contaminated properties, deposit the proceeds
of any land sales into the FAPC, and use the FAPC for expenditures related to
personnel costs and contracted services. |
|
Any additional
costs to the Department of Health and Human Services or the DACF as a result
of other provisions of this bill are expected to be minor and can be absorbed
within existing budgeted resources. |
