Fiscal Detail and Notes
This amendment removes the fee increases for certain inland fishing licenses included in the committee amendment, eliminating $1,474,000 in projected General Fund revenue beginning in fiscal year 2025-26.
The amendment retains provisions from the committee amendment that (1) establish a new program, (2) expand the allowable uses of the existing Fish Hatchery Maintenance Fund (FHMF), an Other Special Revenue Funds account, and (3) require that $2 from each license sold be deposited into the FHMF.
As a result, approximately $500,000 in license revenue that would otherwise have been credited to the General Fund will instead be deposited into the FHMF as Other Special Revenue Funds revenue beginning in fiscal year 2025-26.
