This bill
includes ongoing General Fund appropriations to the Judicial Department of
$563,041 in fiscal year 2024-25 to establish one Judge position, one Marshal
position and one Assistant Clerk position effective July 1, 2024, to handle
the increased workload related to the Crisis Intervention Order process. It
also includes one-time General Fund appropriations of $76,000 in fiscal year
2024-25 for contracted temporary staffing and for programming multiple
systems. |

Any additional
costs to the Department of Public Safety associated with the implementation
of this legislation are expected to be minor and can be absorbed within
existing budgeted resources. |
|
There may be
additional costs to the State to provide counsel to represent indigent
individuals in crisis intervention order hearings. |
