This amendment
reduces the General Fund appropriations in the bill by $175,000 is fiscal
year 2024-25 only. As amended, this bill includes General Fund appropriations
totaling $475,000 in fiscal year 2024-25 to the General Purpose Aid for Local
Schools program within the Department of Education to provide funding for the
Maine School of Science and Mathematics. Of that amount, $250,000 is
appropriated to support the administrative operations of the school and
$225,000 is appropriated for financial support to in-state students who
demonstrate a need for room and board expenses. |
