This bill includes
a one-time General Fund appropriation of $257,000 in fiscal year 2024-25 to a
newly established Emergency Housing Matching Grant Program Fund within the
Maine State Housing Authority (MSHA) for grants to homeless service providers
to construct, renovate or acquire new or existing buildings to house the
homeless. This bill also includes ongoing base Other Special Revenue Funds
allocations of $500 per year beginning in fiscal year 2023-24 to authorize
the expenditure of funds in the event monies are received from donations and
other public or private sources.
Additional costs to MSHA to administer the program can be absorbed
within existing budgeted resources. |
