This bill
includes ongoing General Fund appropriations of $5,000,000 per year beginning
in fiscal year 2023-24 to a newly established Emergency Housing Matching
Grant Program Fund within the Maine State Housing Authority (MSHA) for grants
to qualified providers of emergency housing and shelter services for the
construction, renovation, or acquisition of a new or existing building in
which to provide emergency housing and shelter services. This bill also includes ongoing base Other
Special Revenue Funds allocations of $500 per year beginning in fiscal year
2023-24 to authorize the expenditure of funds in the event monies are
received from donations and other public or private sources. Additional costs to MSHA to administer the
program can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources. |
