This amendment
eliminates the ongoing General Fund appropriations in the bill of $60,000 in
fiscal year 2023-24 and $500,000 per year beginning in fiscal year 2024-25 to
a newly created Essential Support Worker Tuition Grant Fund within the
Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) to provide education vouchers to eligible
workers or to a member of the eligible worker's family and, instead, provides
a one-time General Fund appropriation of $100,000 in fiscal year 2024-25 to
FAME for the same purpose. The amendment also provides ongoing Other Special
Revenue Funds allocations of $500 per year beginning in fiscal year 2024-25
to allow the spending of any monies received from public or private sources. |
