This bill includes
a General Fund appropriation of $60,000 in fiscal year 2023-24 and ongoing
General Fund appropriations of $500,000 per year beginning in fiscal year
2024-25 to a newly created Essential Support Worker Tuition Grant Fund within
the Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) to provide education vouchers to
eligible workers or to a member of the eligible worker's family. The bill
provides that the cost to FAME to maintain, service and administer the
fund and the program may be paid out of amounts in the fund. |
