This bill includes General Fund appropriations to the Department of Health and Human Services of $195,266 in fiscal year 2023-24 and $260,355 in fiscal year 2024-25 to establish a program to pay for the fees and costs incurred by a minor placed in the care of someone other than the minor's biological parents or a minor who is living independently of the minor's biological parents related to obtaining a license and motor vehicle insurance and additional costs related to obtaining a driver's license.
Additional costs to the Department of Secretary of State associated with technology costs to update computer programs and systems can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources.
