This resolve
authorizes Ronald Caron and Jennifer Berube to sue the Department of
Transportation for damages resulting from a motor vehicle accident involving
the Department of Transportation and waives the statutory limitations on
damage recovery. If the plaintiffs are
successful, it is assumed that the first $400,000 would come from the Risk
Management Self-Insurance Fund and anything over $400,000 would come from the
Highway Fund. The amount and timing of any payment will depend on when the
suit is settled and its outcome.
The Department of the Attorney General and the Department of Transportation
can absorb the additional costs of defending this claim within existing
resources. |
