This bill includes
one-time General Fund appropriations of $2,000,000 in both fiscal year
2023-24 and fiscal year 2024-25 to the General Purpose Aid for Local Schools
program within the Department of Education for grants to public elementary
and secondary schools to expand the community school program. |

Funding for
community schools is included in the targeted education funds component of
the total cost of education from kindergarten to grade 12 pursuant to Title
20-A, section 15689-A, subsection 25.
The amount appropriated here for fiscal year 2023-24 will be added to
the amount already designated for community schools in Public Law 2023,
chapter 17, Part C. |
