This amendment
eliminates the requirement that the Commissioner of Education convene a
stakeholder group to make recomendations on researching and identifying
alternative pathways or revenue sources to finance school construction needs
in the State and, instead, requires the commissioner to conduct a study. The amendment also eliminates the one-time
General Fund appropriation of $5,000 in fiscal year 2023-24 to the Leadership
program within the department for the costs to contract with a facilitator to
support the work of the stakeholder group. Additional costs to the department
to conduct the study can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources. |
