This amendment
eliminates the one half-time Labor & Safety Inspector position and the
ongoing General Fund appropriations of $37,756 in fiscal year 2023-24 and
$52,573 in fiscal year 2024-25 to the Regulation and Enforcement program
within the Department of Labor included in the bill to support the
anticipated increase in workload associated with ensuring compliance with the
wage and hour regulations. The Department of Labor has indicated that without
additional staffing resources it will need to prioritize enforcement
activities. |
