The Department of
Environmental Protection has indicated that establishing a program to
regulate the management and disposal of food waste will require additional
staff and resources to conduct education and outreach to impacted entities,
conduct compliance inspections and implement other enforcement fieldwork. The
bill includes ongoing General Fund appropriations of $554,349 beginning in
fiscal year 2024-25 for one Environmental Specialist IV position, four
Environmental Specialist III positions and associated position costs
including vehicles and technology management. |
