Increases the
number of Class B and Class C crimes by making possession of compounds,
mixtures or substances containing a detectable amount of certain scheduled
drugs to be considered proof that a person is unlawfully trafficking in
scheduled drugs. The current average cost of incarcerating one individual for
a single year is $55,203.
The additional workload associated with the minimal number of new felony
cases filed in the court system does not require additional funding at this time.
The collection of additional fines will increase General Fund or other
dedicated revenue by minor amounts. |
